TREMONTON – Crystal Corner in Tremonton, located at 425 W. Main St., is housed in part of a retired grain elevator. The remodeled space fits the purpose of the business. It is a place of healing and a community gathering space.
They sell stones, and some are used for healing.
“The old mill our store is in has been around for at least 79 years,” said business owner Sara Anderson. “It was used as a business before.”
Someone bought the building and renovated it and made a space that fits her rock shop.
“The building has the coolest space. It’s had a lot of room to gather,” she said. “We really like it. It fits what we do.”
The shopping area is on the street level and the upper level is used for meetings, classes and a place to gather. The upper level is accessed by a ramp.
“Besides teaching yoga, I have a practitioner room that is available for massage, foot zoning, reiki and other healing practitioners,” Anderson said. “I am bringing in as many tools as I can to help people on their healing journey.”
She invites different vendors to come help people. She has a psychic medium coming, an oracle, card reader and others coming. She also has opened up places for local practitioners to promote their business.
“We opened on my birthday in 2020, so every year on January 28 we have a birthday celebration,” Anderson said. “I sold stones out of my home for two years before we opened the store.”
It’s a family business her husband mines some of their gems.
“I have two daughters that make jewelry from rocks and my 11-year-old son cuts and polishes rocks.”
Anderson focuses on alternative healing. She also has a medical background. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse with 15 years of experience and before that she was a Certified Nurse’s Aide.
“Everything has frequency, colors have frequencies, light has a frequency, radio waves have them and so do stones,” Anderson said. “Different stones have different frequencies that affect the human body and we can use a stone to help people with their healing process.”
“The stone doesn’t fix you,” she added. “The rock helps you fix yourself and gets the person into the right frequency.”
The store has containers with different kinds of stones to purchase, some are polished and some are not. There also necklaces and other jewelry with stones in them that people can buy.
“You come into a rock shop to buy rocks, but it is more than that,” she said. “It is a community of hope and healing with no judgement. Come as you are. Learn and be in a more positive space.”
Anderson said her passion to help people has given her a way to help them on their journey of healing.
Each stone has different healing properties, said Jeni Chipman-Schenk, a store clerk.
“We have a book that talks about what the different stones are with healing powers and what they do for people,” she said. “Smokey quartz, for instance, is for helping people let go of things. It protects, helps balance life and alleviates anxiety and fear.”
With every rock sold there is a paper available to explain the healing property of the stone. The Genesis Stone, for instance, aids with muscle pain, headaches, among other things. If sat on while driving the Genesis Stone will decrease back pain caused by driving.
Purple Jasper, also called the fearless stone, helps people have good dreams and be safe in their world.
Chipman-Schenk has worked at Crystal Corner for two years and enjoys her interaction with customers and feels like she is benefiting her community. She said selling healing stones and crystals with certain properties that help people is a fulfilling experience.
