AUDUBON — Hello from Heaven: Why is it that some people seem to get messages from loved ones that have passed on, but others don’t?

A program hosted by the Audubon Public Library may have some answers.

Deb Gaul Rusch, a spiritual psychic medium, (and sister-in-law to Laurie Gilbert) will be coming to Audubon on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. to talk about and answer questions on signs at from the other side.

“Some people are not getting signs,” she said, noting it could be that they didn’t know how to ask, or that their grief or anger was getting in the way.

“Ironically, the times when we need the message the most,” she said we might be blocking those signs from getting through.

She puts on programs like these to help people.

She said she was “sharing with people so that they can learn how to have it within them, to ask for and get God-given miraculous signs from your loved ones.”

Debbie said she’s always been different. “I’ve been psychic since I was 3,” she said, or as early as those around her noticed it. “I could always see spirits,” she said, adding, “And I had an imaginary friend who wasn’t all that imaginary.”

Kids and animals, she said, closer to “the veil,” they see things adults don’t.

Besides doing programs, Debbie does psychic medium readings for people with questions.

She’s a Reiki Master, using energy in someone’s body to help healing.

She also does past life regressions, which she says can be fun and can explain things for people.

Often things that a person has carried over from their past life can cause issues today, and you could use past life regression to deal with phobias, but finding out the root behind them, “and let it go,” she added.

Often she says that without even knowing a person she can tell what their likes and dislikes are.

At this time of year she says she likes to post “witchy” things on her page.

“My 10 times great-grandmother was tried as a witch, twice,” she said, and lived.

She thought by reading histories that the woman perhaps had premonitions that might have set her apart.

As a child she was bullied a lot, “because I was weird, saying things and seeing stuff,” and today she will attempt to help explain things for children who might be seeing someone in their house or room and are frightened.

“I think it’s important for kids to know that’s okay,” and how to handle things.

When it comes to explaining why things happen, she said she has gotten her answers directly from asking spirits questions.

The spirits are often eager to communicate with her, “I think from the other side I must look like an open door,” she said.

While she won’t be doing psychic readings that night, she will be taking questions from people that might help them understand.

“Come with an open mind,” she said, adding if someone has lost someone, this will give them comfort.

Grief and pain and anger can block communication and sometimes loved ones will go to another close relative because they can’t come to their person because of that kind of block.

She’s visited the library before — and library officials say many calling to put themselves on a list as planning to attend, have said they heard her speak before and really enjoyed it.

She offers spirit guide sessions, connecting people with loved ones, past life regressions, Angel Card readings, palm readings, and more.

She also makes custom designed crystal jewelry, Healing crystal packs, smudge sage kits for cleansing homes and businesses of negative energies, Rock & crystal Cairns and Crystal grids for manifestation.

“I also have a whole line of Hello From Heaven products that I will be bringing with me,” she said.

She has a studio is connected to her home near Nelson Park between Dunlap and Dow City.
