The closer we get to the highly anticipated release of Immortals of Aveum, the more important it becomes to decide what version of the game to buy. Two editions of the game are available for pre-purchase: Standard for $59.99 and Deluxe for $69.99. Like other games with multiple editions, Immortals of Aveum’s Deluxe Edition gives players something to think about before making a choice. For anyone with money to burn, this Edition is the superior option. Here’s everything there is to know about why that is.

So what exactly does the player get for purchasing this version of the game? Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition will be awarded the following items:

  • Purified Arclight: This unique blue sigil buffs Jak’s blue Strike spells as well as his Shatter Fury spell.
  • Triarch’s Wrath: An versatile item that can be equipped as Jak’s red, blue, or green sigil. It also boosts his crit damage.
  • Immortals Ring: A generalist buff ring that increases Shred against all three colors of magic.
  • Ring of Rasharn: A generalist buff ring that increases spell damage for all three colors of magic.
  • Aristeyan Ring: A generalist buff ring that increases Fury damage for all three colors of magic.
  • Bracer of the Colossal: A bracer that increases Jak’s Armor and Healing Crystal recovery.
  • Sky Island Gauntlet: A gauntlet that increases Armor and Shield Health, while decreasing Dodge cooldown.
  • Dresnyr Lens: An item that increases the power of red magic and buffs Spellbreak damage.
  • Lucian Chain: An item that increases the power of blue magic and decreases the cooldown of Lash control spells.
  • Vial of the Pentacade: An item that increases the power of green magic and increases the duration of Limpet control spells.

Whether you want to focus on offense, defense, a combination, or something else entirely, it looks like the Deluxe Edition has you covered.

What This Gear Means for Gameplay

Electronic Arts has said that players can either specialize in a single color of magic or be a jack-of-all-trades, dabbling in all three. The equipment offered in the Deluxe Edition seems to support that. While some items (like Purified Arclight and the Lucian Chain) specialize in one color, others provide more generalized buffs. How much of an impact these items make on gameplay remains to be seen, but they’re certainly an enticing offer. In a multi-player game, offering significant buffs for real money would reek of pay-to-win, but Immortals of Aveum is single-player. You’re going to win regardless. The only question is whether you’re going to have these glittering treasures to help you do it.

Immortals of Aveum releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 22.
