Every Christian receives spiritual gifts from the Lord that empower us to serve the Church, which is Christ’s body.

Spiritual gifts fall into four main categories: motivational, healing, words of knowledge and prophecy. Their primary function in the church is ecclesiastical – that is to say they help build up Christ’s body as the church.

1. Claircognizance

Claircognizance refers to the ability to access intuition by “knowing,” rather than feeling. Gut instincts, awakening with ideas or having insightful discussions could all be signs that you have this gift!

Claircognizance can provide answers that have no apparent rational basis, as well as guidance in times of crisis – this is true intuition in action!

Information can come in various forms: flashes of light or drum beats may come to you as messages; psychometry enables people to read energy from objects; it even allows those in spirit contact with deceased loved ones through touch communication.

2. Clairsentience

Have you ever noticed your emotions changing when talking with certain people, or felt fatigued after talking with others? These could be signs that you possess the psychic ability of clairsentience – the capacity for perceiving emotional and energetic shifts within others.

Clairsentients often sense the atmosphere of a room upon entering it and can detect subtle shifts in energy even when other people do not detect it. Furthermore, these individuals can detect emotional cues from both animals and humans alike.

3. Sensing

Sensing preferences tend to excel at handling the details of things and enjoy performing concrete tasks; these individuals may become dissatisfied when presented with anything open-ended or abstract.

As psychic gifts often come with increased sensitivity, it’s essential that you first calibrate and clear out your intuition in order to avoid feeling overwhelmed by all the helpful information it feeds you. Once done, trust will return in your intuitive abilities.

4. Seeing

The gift of seeing is the ability to perceive things from within the spiritual realm, such as visions or auras of light or other spiritual phenomenon.

When one man revealed their ability to see spirits to his pastor, his pastor advised seeking counseling services instead. It’s essential to remember that all gifts must be understood within Scripture’s boundaries and be applied accordingly.

5. Hearing

People gifted with this ability have an uncanny knack of hearing and understanding messages spoken in languages foreign to them, then interpret and relay those messages so as to edify and glorify God through his church.

People with this talent take great pleasure in encouraging and strengthening others. They possess an enormous capacity for faith, frequently responding to difficult situations with prayer.

6. Touch

Touch is a spiritual gift with the ability to heal people physically, emotionally and spiritually. People possessing this talent often participate in healing ministries, prayer groups and pastoral care programs.

Discussion of any perceptual modality quickly turns to metaphysical considerations regarding its features and objects; this is true for vision, hearing and touch; however it stands out particularly vividly when discussing touch.

One potential explanation could be that tactile awareness primarily involves bodily sensation and, thus, our agential actions (Mattens 2017). This may explain why touch has such a close association to agency than other sensory modalities.

7. Taste

Taste is the ability to detect what something tastes like, which can be used spiritually to discern prophetic messages and determine whether new age practices have biblical foundations.

Some individuals with this gift are able to gain intuitive guidance through taste alone, whether that means remembering recipes, recalling information from books or following instructions based on how ingredients smell – this phenomenon is known as Clairgustance.

People with this ability can also use it to detect spirits within a room like spiritual sonar waves.

8. Smell

Claralience allows people to sense scents emanating from spirit world entities, whether those from deceased loved ones or unclean spirits. People with this ability often use it to validate a loved one’s passing over or communicate with them directly.

This talent works similarly to how whales or dolphins use echolocation: emitting sound and then hearing its echo back; some individuals with this gift can even use spiritual sonar to detect spirits.

9. Taste and Smell

As in the physical realm, in spiritual matters it’s necessary to use all of your senses just like they would be used in physical environments. Your senses can help discern spirits present; it acts like spiritual sonar.

Psychometricians with this gift often experience psychic taste sensations and aroma perceptions known as clairgustance that help them connect to spirits more directly.

Many individuals possess the gift of sensing spirits; this makes a powerful tool in the hands of an adept medium. Unfortunately, however, some with this talent turn to dark practices and exploit their gift for evil purposes.
